Crawford Dairy Farm
3rd Mar 2025
On our visit to Crawford Dairy Farm, the pupils of St. Mary’s Primary School were amazed by how technology and robotics are transforming farming life. Hosted by Crawfords, we had the chance to see firsthand how cutting-edge innovations are helping farmers improve efficiency and productivity. A special thanks to Jacob from Lely, who gave us a guided tour of their robotic milking systems. The robots were fascinating, automatically milking cows and allowing farmers to monitor health and milk production with precision. This technology not only reduces the need for manual labor but also ensures better animal welfare and optimised milk yield. It was inspiring to learn how these advancements are shaping the future of farming, making it more sustainable and less labor-intensive. The visit left the pupils with a deeper appreciation for the role of technology in modern agriculture and how it’s helping Northern Ireland’s farmers stay competitive in a rapidly changing world. Thank you to Crawfords and Jacob for such an informative and eye-opening experience.
