ICT Coding

15th Nov 2024
In a Key Stage 2 ICT lesson today, students began learning the fundamentals of coding through interactive and engaging activities. At this stage, pupils are introduced to basic programming concepts such as algorithms, loops, conditionals, and variables, often using block-based coding platforms like Scratch. These tools allow students to create simple animations, games, and interactive stories, providing a hands-on approach to understanding coding logic. Teachers encourage problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity, as students break down tasks into smaller steps and use coding to bring their ideas to life. Working collaboratively on projects, children learn the importance of trial and error, debugging, and perseverance. Through these lessons, students not only gain valuable technical skills but also develop essential transferable skills like teamwork, critical thinking, and attention to detail. By integrating coding into the curriculum, schools are preparing students for future digital literacy and the increasingly tech-driven world.
